The Tail of the Dragon is a popular drive that attracts motorcyclists throughout the country and perhaps even the world. This is a beautiful drive on the Cherohala Skyway (US Hwy 129) that spans both eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina. This isn't the first time Roland and I drove on the Tail of the Dragon. And Roland had a hard time convincing me to go with him because the last time I went I got carsick. The road is just that winding! He convinced me by suggesting that I drive this time. And that made all the difference! What a great trip! As you can see in the pictures below we got to see such beautiful views. It's spring and the dogwood flowers are just beginning to come out. What a wonderful day!

Our beautiful blue 2003 Camry. We'll always love her. As of today, Feb 2016, she has 245,000 miles and goin' strong. She should be with us a good while longer still! |

No. We didn't ride a motorcycle for any portion of this trip. But took a picture of the motorcyclist who drove it and when he offered to take a picture of us with the dragon, we asked if we could pose by his motorcycle. |
We also visited Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. The pictures below were taken at this location. This was a forest that never logged and the trees that grow there are very old and beautiful. Roland and I lingered here as long as we possibly could.

Love the way this mass of tree roots looks. Nature makes such beautiful art. |
